There’s something special about the lake

There’s something special about dipping your toes in lake water. Feeling the water flow between your toes, feel the tide pull at your feet as they sink into the wet sand. Broken shell pieces sway in the waves searching for peace and stillness, looking for their missing pieces, so they can be whole again. They brush gently against my skin as I sink farther into the earth.

There’s something special about the sound of waves, the seagulls cawing above a group of people lounging in the sun. The gentle, methodical pulse of earth’s beautiful waves of energy in water form. I can hear them now, if I concentrate. I always leave feeling cleansed, reborn, like anything is possible.
